HOW TO READ THIS

Monitoring + official warnings + transparent scoring

Earthquakes: recent M2.5+ events across the contiguous U.S., Alaska, Hawaii and U.S. territories, with severity driven mainly by the largest recent magnitude.

Tsunamis: NOAA/NWS warning-center messages. Warning, advisory and watch levels affect the live score only while fresh inside the 24-hour safety window.

Volcanoes: the latest USGS observatory notice for each volcano, never the historical maximum alert from older notices.

Tornadoes: active NWS Tornado Warnings and Watches drive the current score. NOAA/NWS SPC Day 1 tornado probabilities are shown separately as official forecast evidence while KINGAI calibrates how—or whether—to incorporate them into the index.
